About Your Session

I want you to feel informed and comfortable about your photo shoot.  The information below should answer any questions you may have.  Of course, I always love it when you call or email me so we can talk through everything!

Consultation

Anchor 1

It would work best if we could sit down for 30 minutes a week or two before the shoot to make sure I understand what you want.  We will discuss the style of photographs (lifestyle, posed, etc.), the setting (nature, rustic, urban, home, studio, etc.), poses, props, how many will be in the shoot, and any other details.  If you've seen photos that tell the story you want, show them to me.  I want you to see your photos and say, "That's exactly what I wanted!"

What to wear

We always want you to look your best in your photos, so what you wear is important.  For children, remember to keep it simple.  We don't want to spend valuable time fixing bunched up clothing or tucking in.  The same goes for teens and adults.  Clothes that make you look long and lean instead of chopped off work well.  Colors that enhance your complexion are important, too.  Stay away from busy prints and loud colors - we want you to be the star, not your clothes.  You can always bring the clothes you're considering to our consultation and I will tell you what would work best.  We will also decide how many clothes changes you will want in the session.

Styling

June 16.jpg

For that extra touch, we can have June Mullins, a licensed makeup artist, make sure your makeup is perfect.  We can also bring in a hair stylist.  Depending on the level of styling you want, you will need to come to the shoot thirty minutes to an hour before.  This service is an additional cost.

Weather

Nothing ruins an outdoor shoot faster than rain, snow, or extreme heat.  We will plan a contingency date, just in case Mother Nature decides to not cooperate.  I will watch the weather closely and will communicate to you right up to the session time.

When/How do I get my photos?

For regular sessions, I should have your photos edited within a week.  For large wedding shoots, it takes two to three weeks to edit.  Once I have edited the photos, I will send you a digital link to your photos.  I will also give you a print release to show the print shop so they don't question your right to print them.  If you would like for me to have them printed and/or framed, this would be an additional cost.  We would sit down and decide which prints, how large, and frame styles.  Expect two to three weeks for delivery.
